The laboratory medicine department is a full-service laboratory, accredited by the College of American Pathologists and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health Bureau of Laboratories. Testing procedures and instruments are continually updated, allowing the department to offer a wide selection of services and remain current with national testing standards. The department, which has five satellite specimen-collection sites, also coordinates a courier service to bring specimens from physician offices, clinics and nursing homes to the main laboratory for testing. Laboratory testing services require a physician's order and are available on an inpatient or emergency basis 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Outpatient testing is available in the medical center at the hours listed below.

Pre-registration

Patients can pre-register for outpatient lab testing at any of our locations by calling 724.357.7075 or toll-free at 877.444.2778 before 6 p.m. or 724.357.7119 after 6 p.m. Once you have completed your pre-registration, you can report directly to the laboratory at your scheduled date and time.

Outpatients taking Coumadin (warfarin) can be enrolled in the clinic by their physicians. Contact us for information or enrollment forms.

Homebound Phlebotomy Service

Provided to Medicare/MedicareHMO homebound residents in the IRMC service area. Physicians can enroll outpatients by completing a homebound certification and order forms. Contact us for informaton or certification/order forms.
